Call for Nominations

The opportunity to make a career-enhancing impact has never been greater. The SMPS New York Chapter is looking for leaders who can enact the resilient strategies that will support our members within the evolving AEC Industry in Greater New York City region.
This local chapter of the Society of Professional Marketing Services—inclusive of the Long Island, Westchester-Hudson Valley and New Jersey affiliate chapters—educates and advocates for creative and sales professionals who provide marketing, business development, communications, and related services to the region’s design, construction, and real estate organizations.
Nominations for Directors to the 2022-2023 SMPS New York Executive Committee and Board are now open until April 29. Those nominated will be on the ballot during the chapter’s election period, concluding on June 3, 2022. All SMPS members are invited to submit their nominees to chapter Vice President/President-Elect Nathan Reyna via email or through our online survey.
There are two open officer positions:
- Vice President/President-Elect
- Treasurer
There are seven open director positions, including:
- Director of Membership
- Director of Communications
- Director of Public Relations
- Director of Programs
- Director of Sponsorship
- Director of New Jersey Affiliate
- Director of Diversity & Inclusion
To be eligible to run for Treasurer or Vice President, a candidate must:
- Be a Regular or Distinguished Life Member in good standing (current) with SMPS New York
- Have served at least one full two-year term as an Officer or member of the Board of Directors
Nominees for all other positions must be members in good standing (current) with SMPS New York. Committee/volunteer experience is preferred, within SMPS or involvement with other industry organizations.

Please be sure your nominee is willing to accept the responsibility of attending monthly meetings and chapter events, contributing recommendations, stimulating conversation, supporting execution of events, and strives to advocate for, educate, and connect members of all experience levels.
