Chief Communications Officer, Skanska USA
Cynthia is Chief Communications Officer for Skanska USA where she guides enterprise-wide communications strategies and reports to the US CEO. In her role, Cynthia oversees internal and external communications for Skanska in the US, with representative building construction, civil construction, and commercial development business units. She leads a national corporate communications team that co-creates and implements communications strategies focused on strengthening Skanska’s brand and reputation through public relations, social media, corporate communications, and engagement via general content and digital channels. Cynthia has been with Skanska since 2008. Prior to taking on her current role in 2018, she served in multiple marketing leadership positions to coach, develop and lead marketing and proposal teams as they secured major project wins. Most notable are two New York City redevelopment projects: LaGuardia Central Terminal B ($3.6 billion public private partnership) and Moynihan Train Hall ($1.6 billion expansion and modernization). Before joining Skanska, she served in various marketing and project operational roles for Gilbane Building Company in the Metro New York region. During her 18-year tenure in the industry, Cynthia has been recognized for her leadership, dedication and excellence through multiple awards and recognitions, including Building Design + Construction’s Top 40 Under 40. Based in New York City, Cynthia is a graduate of Kean University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Sciences.
