Never Too Young To Lead

Leadership Tips for Emerging AEC Industry Professionals

Leadership can happen at any level, not just at the C-suite. These Top 40 Under 40 / 30 Under 30 leaders will share the personal strategies and insight they’ve used to inspire action in others and themselves. According to leadership expert Simon Sinek, leaders create a circle of safety. “When there is a circle of safety, the natural human reaction is trust and cooperation. In the AEC industry, leadership is a cornerstone in motivating people, firms, and clients to contribute to something bigger than their own selves. Whether it be revitalizing existing infrastructure or envisioning improvements for community placemaking, effective leaders are needed to foster conducive environments for people to feel safe and engage in authentic ways to solve complex problems.

The panel will share game-changing strategies to find common ground on the relevant data pertinent to delivering a winning, timely and de-stressed submission. Join the panel in an interactive discussion to learn tips on how to manage schedule, roles, content, material and style. The panel will include an Owner, Architect and sub-consultants who have honed the process and ready to share with you their methodologies.

After attending this presentation, participants will be able to:

1. Gain valuable insight from leaders recognized in their fields
2. Become aware of the strategies needed to lead multiple teams or a diverse group of people
3. Identify ways to encourage trust and collaboration within your firm regardless of your title
4. Learn ways to build your team up without tearing them down
5. Understand what sacrifices leaders make for the betterment of the whole
