SMPS-NY’s First Ever Town Hall Meeting
For the past couple of months I’ve been talking in my President’s Platform a lot about reaching out to our members and having candid conversations about what is and what isn’t working for our chapter, in regards to a host of topics – membership, events, strategy, you name it.
As part of our first phase of member engagement, we’ve been holding specific focus groups with various sectors of our membership to ask these questions plus others that are relevant to helping us plan our chapter strategies and programming going forward.
For our second phase, I am so excited to announce our first ever SMPS-NY Town Hall Meeting, an interactive networking event, to be held on April 17 at LANGAN. This event is going to be a wonderful opportunity to network and mingle with the Board of Directors and other members (and non-members!), learn more about the chapter, and make your voice heard. Your input will help refine and direct the efforts of our upcoming 2019-2020 year.
We’ll start the evening off with a networking session, and then a brief presentation will be given to introduce our Board of Directors and their respective committees; provide an overview of our current five-year strategic plan; and discuss high-level outcomes of our focus groups. We will then turn the program over to our audience for a lively and interactive discussion. We’ll then end the event with more networking and hopefully continue our discussions further.
Come ready with questions, business cards, and of course a bright outlook for the future. Drinks and appetizers will be provided! If you already have a question for our town hall session, please feel free to send them to me and you’ll be entered into a raffle for a prize drawing during the event!
So, please consider joining us at 5:30pm on Wednesday, April 17th at LANGAN (360 W. 31st Street). You don’t want to miss this event!
