I’ve spent way too many Decembers looking back at the year and wishing I had accomplished more. This year, that’s changed!  2019 has been a wild ride and I am incredibly proud of accomplishments in both my personal life and professional career…especially the sparkle of my SMPS-NY team!  This year I celebrated a milestone birthday, started a co-op program at EverGreene Architectural Arts with Northeastern University (my Alma Mater) in Boston, and feel that, as SMPS-NY President, I’m achieving many of the goals I’ve set for myself!

I know I said I’m not really looking back, but it’s worth recapping that the Chapter had a wonderfully well-attended Snowy Soiree on December 6. I want to give a huge shout-out to our Special Event Committee led by Nicole Veenstra of LANGAN on a job well done. We also held a thought-provoking Coordinator’s Club where we got some serious advice on 2020 Goal Setting. Finally, our Board of Directors celebrated a successful year with a potluck meal and white elephant exchange.

But enough about the past, let’s look ahead to 2020, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! We’re kicking off a new DECADE with a January full of exciting networking events and programming. Keep a look out for the NJ Affilate’s New Year’s Spirits on January 8th, that group is always a fun time. Our first Leadership Workshop of the year on January 17th, Never Too Young to Lead, will be an interesting panel of emerging leaders who will share strategies and insights that help them drive initiatives at their firm. We’ll also hold a Mentoring Magic Coordinator’s Club on January 24th where we’ll drop some knowledge and work on critical skills for the next generation of A/E/C marketers!

Most of all I’d like to send warm wishes to all of our SMPS-NY members and volunteers. I’m so thankful for each of you! Stay safe and healthy this Holiday season and be sure to sparkle wherever you go.
