Meet Meghan Chrobock — our July 2019 Member of the Month!

Where are you from and what brought you to NYC?

I am originally from Morris County, New Jersey and grew up in the suburbs. After college, I worked in Philadelphia for over a year and wanted to move home closer to my family. I love New York City and eventually moved to Hudson County to pursue my career as a marketing professional as well as be closer to the action.

What led you to being involved on the SMPS-NY Leadership Committee?

After reviewing the committees on the SMPS-NY website, I reached out to Rhonda Cardone, Director of Leadership, about joining. After a welcoming conversation and discussion about the benefits of this amazing community, I knew this was the right fit for me. This experience has helped me to build my leadership skills and grow into my career in the A/E/C industry.

What do you hope to gain from your SMPS-NY membership/experience?

My time with SMPS-NY has taught me the importance of networking and making new contacts in our industry. It is so important for me to be a continuous learner. SMPS-NY gives me a structured way of learning about the industry and how to make myself a better marketer.

How has being a member of SMPS-NY influenced your career so far?

At first I was hesitant to go to events, but after attending a few I realized the significance of being in an organization that focuses on the marketing side of our industry. After attending the SMPS-NY Town Hall in April, I felt that I gained so much knowledge on how the organization’s involvement has affected members over their long and prosperous careers. The support and friendship you can make throughout your membership is truly priceless!

We know every day is different, but what do you do in your role at SIMCO?

I am the Assistant Marketing Manager at SIMCO. I think the most significant thing about working at SIMCO is that it is truly a team environment. It does not matter what your title or role is, everyone is there to support each other in any way that we can. Day-to-day, I am producing full proposal packages, updating company information, overseeing website updates, creating new marketing collateral and perfecting our branding.

What’s an ideal Saturday for you?

My ideal Saturday starts off by getting an oat milk latte after a long run around my neighborhood. Following my run, I would watch a good movie snuggled up on the couch and maybe eat some gluten-free gnocchi.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to train for half marathons in my spare time. I just finished my fourth half-marathon in May!

Where can we see you in five years?

In five years, I see myself making steps towards achieving CPSM designation and continuing to be involved in SMPS-NY. My goal is to manage an entire marketing department and maybe even go back to school for my Masters in marketing.
