Senior Marketing Coordinator

CetraRuddy Architecture DPC

Meet Natalie Dargham — our August 2019 Member of the Month!

Where are you from and what brought you to NYC?

I was born in Beirut, Lebanon and moved to Houston, TX at the age of 6, followed by Washington, DC. After college, I made my way to New York and I’ve been here about 4 years now. I’ve always known I wanted to live in NYC – there is something special about the fast-paced environment, the culture and the energy of the city.

What led you to being involved on the SMPS-NY Special Events Committee?

My director and mentor, Meredith Cocco, encouraged me to join the SMPS organization and the communications committee as soon as I joined the CetraRuddy team, now I serve on the Special Events Committee where we had a great time planning The Liberty Ball. It has been a fantastic way to meet new people in our niche industry and expand on my skill set.

What do you hope to gain from your SMPS-NY membership/experience?

I hope to continue to meet new industry professionals, build upon my existing relationships and expand my industry knowledge. SMPS is a fantastic resource for people at all career levels and offers great opportunities; specifically through committees, workshops and events.

How has being a member of SMPS-NY influenced your career so far?

Being a member of SMPS has been invaluable! There is strong sense of community and support, and it has been extremely helpful to put faces to the names I’ve exchanged emails with. Even more importantly, I’ve been able to grow and apply big-picture thinking to my day-to-day responsibilities.

We know every day is different, but what do you do in your role at CetraRuddy?

That is true – every day is certainly different, which is what I love most about the job! At CetraRuddy, I work closely with the Marketing & Business Development team as well as collaborate directly with firm principals and designers to research/prepare proposals and presentations. Additionally, this role has evolved into strategically managing and leading the production of graphic material including marketing materials, award submissions and e-blasts.

What’s an ideal Saturday for you?

My ideal Saturday includes a morning workout and a walk around the city or Central Park, followed by dinner with close friends.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy a range of activities in my free time – I love to test a new recipe, research boutique hotels and restaurants around the world, and travel. Next stop: Rome? Morocco? Greece? Suggestions are welcome!

Where can we see you in five years?

Career-wise, I see myself as a marketing manager on the path to director; collaborating and mentoring a team of thoughtful and diligent individuals – perhaps with a focus in the hospitality sector within the AEC industry. Outside of work, I see myself continuing to travel, taking a cooking class or two and learning how to play the piano.
