Andrew Weinberg appointed as new SMPS-NY Chapter Champion The SMPS New York Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Andrew Weinberg, FSMPS, CPSM, as our new Chapter Champion! This position will formalize Andrew’s role as advisor and mentor to the New York chapter.
What does a Chapter Champion do? Some efforts a Chapter Champion might undertake are membership initiatives, leadership development, principal involvement, engagement of volunteers and committees, strategic planning, and enhancing the chapter’s reputation. But foremost, his role will be to help guide the direction of the chapter, both in the short term and in preparing for the future.
Andrew has a long history with SMPS and has been an active member since 1998. He was recognized as an SMPS Fellow in 2013 and has been a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) since 2005. A chapter board member for 12 consecutive years, Andrew is currently a participant in the New York Chapter’s Mentor Program and is a member of its Chapter Advisory Council. At the regional level, he is Co-Chair of the Pinnacle Awards for the 2017 Heartland Regional Conference. And at the national level, Andrew served on the task force for the new Seller-Doer Educational Programming initiative and is Chair of the Seller-Doer Symposium, a pre-conference program at Build Business.
According to SMPS-NY President Robin Carathanasis, “Appointing Andrew as Chapter Champion is not only a smart choice but a reassuring one. As a friend to SMPS-NY, Andrew’s 18 years of continuous leadership, positive contributions, and mentoring to so many members is undeniable. I am so appreciative to have his counsel and spirit to help guide us through the Chapter’s next productive years. “All Hail” our new Chapter Champion, Andrew Weinberg!”
