SMPS New York organizes programs for AEC industry marketers, business developers, and principals to further their knowledge around the SMPS Six Domains of Practice: marketing and research, marketing planning, client and business development, proposals, promotional activity, and management. The Professional Development committee works to develop programs on topics that are current and important to today’s marketing teams.

THE Marketing Event (TME)
Our annual, full-day professional development symposium draws hundreds of AEC professionals from the East Coast and beyond to learn about significant trends in business from the smartest innovators.
Coordinator’s Club Brown Bag Lunches
These bimonthly, hour-long lunch sessions provide attendees a forum for open discussion around a variety of topics from public relations to proposals to photography. Better yet, they are free for members!
Marketer’s Toolbox - Creative Workshop Series
This four-part series of interactive workshops is designed so participants get hands-on practice via InDesign exercises and related digital marketing tasks under an instructor’s guidance. They are also free for members!
Professional Development Committee
Professional Development Committee members have the opportunity to develop content and organize programs, interact with other committees, and support the chapter in educating marketers, business developers, and principals.
Creative Workshop Series
These interactive workshops provide hands-on training experiences through practicing design exercises and related digital marketing tasks, following an instructor’s guidance.
For those interested in becoming a certified professional services marketer, we are excited to offer a “boot camp” series for the benefit of chapter members who are interested in learning about the six domains of practice and taking the CPSM exam.
Our members-only Coordinators Club brown bag lunches are the perfect way for marketers with less than four years of experience to develop a peer group and discuss topics relevant to their jobs with senior industry professionals.
The goal of these programs are to recognize, support, and encourage the development of leadership as it manifests at every level of one’s marketing career.
Our mentorship program demonstrates our chapter’s commitment to assisting AEC marketers and business developers in their personal growth and professional development. Whether you have the skills to teach, or a desire to learn, there is something to be achieved by all who participate.
