“SHIPPING UP” YOUR MARKETING SKILLS FROM AN ATTENDEE PERSPECTIVE: Last week, 335 marketers shipped up to Boston, Massachusetts for the 2015 North East Regional ÜBER Conference. Held at the Boston Park Plaza, this year’s conference boasted 27 programs highlighting topics from a CPSM panel on “Managing it All” to “Becoming a Thought Leader” and “Marketing Suicide”, a what-not-to-do.

He even took an oscar-like selfie with the entire session! Hours of ideas, collaborations, and networking led us into a cocktail reception, complete with photo booth and DJ. To close the conference, a joint healthcare – higher education client panel discussed what engages them and gets them to open our proposals. FROM A CO-CHAIR PERSPECTIVE: It’s hard to believe the 2015 Northeast Regional ÜBER Conference is over. I find myself checking my email every few minutes to see nothing new in that folder, or at least considerably less than what I’m used to. To say that we had an incredible week in Boston is an understatement. Over the course of 3 days, 335 marketing and business development professionals joined us for 27 programs on topics ranging from a CPSM panel on “Managing it All” to “Becoming a Thought Leader” and “Marketing Suicide”, a what-not-to-do. We kicked off the conference with a high energy presentation by keynote speaker, David Meerman Scott, who inspired us to engage with our competition NOW, before our competition does. He even took an Oscar-like selfie with the entire session! We carried that energy through the hours of ideas, collaborations, and networking that led us into a cocktail reception, complete with photo booth and DJ. The remaining sessions were followed by a joint healthcare – higher education client panel that discussed what engages them and gets them to open our proposals. We closed the conference with some prizes and a glimpse of what the future holds for the region: hosting Build Business in 2016 and the next Northeast Regional ÜBER Conference, hosted by the New York Chapters in 2017. FAMILIAR FACES I am very proud to say that the New York City Chapter was well represented in the group of speakers this year. While I wasn’t able to attend all of their sessions, I did hear good feedback on all of them! Congratulations! The success of this conference truly wouldn’t have been possible without the team that we had. It is really a testament to the countless hours that they put in ahead of time.
