JOB DESCRIPTION: MGA&D is seeking a motivated, self-directed and talented business development professional with A/E/C experience to join our dynamic, internationally acclaimed team in Princeton, NJ.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Design Principals and other senior staff to develop a strategic business development plan for each market sector
  • Work with Design Principals and other senior staff to establish business development priorities and to determine target clients
  • Assess and develop new markets, trends, and business opportunities to establish new client relationships
  • Research potential clients and institutions in each market sector to determine:
  • History of recent projects and design firms that provided services
  • Sensitivity to design issues and goals related to planning and building design
  • Status of master plan or strategic plan, capital budget and financial drivers
  • Governance and organization, including decision-makers and decision-influencers
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of upcoming architecture projects within a 1- to 5-year timeframe
  • Establish and maintain a business development database (CRM)
  • Develop networks in each market sector
  • Attend conferences in each market sector
  • Identify leads and information on upcoming projects
  • Identify and meet with potential strategic partners – considerable local and national travel is required
  • Set up visits for Design Principals and other senior staff with targeted prospects
  • Participate in go/no-go evaluations of potential pursuits
  • Collaborate with Design Principals and other senior staff to develop effective strategies to bring opportunities to fruition
  • Collaborate in creating teams for specific pursuits, research the competition, & prepare strategies
  • Work with Design Principals and other senior staff to prepare for client presentations
  • Conduct debriefings after pursuits
  • Prepare monthly reports
  • Other duties as assigned

 
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8 to 10 years experience in business development in architecture, engineering or construction industry
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent people skills and verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must be capable of making client presentations
  • Licensed architect preferred
  • Experience with salesforce.com preferred
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States
