This interactive session explores how marketers and business developers can lead firms through a successful strategic planning initiative. Areas of discussion include ideas and information to bring to the table during the planning process, facilitation of the process, and collaboration with principals, technical leaders, human resources, and financial functions.
Donna has almost three decades of experience marketing professional services, with concentration on management and direction of marketing and client development activities. An accomplished professional working in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry, she has helped to shape visions, develop strategies, position for growth, and connect with clients and the community where you work and live. Her clients benefit from a robust network developed over decades in almost every geographic market and service needed to effectively grow your business. Driven by a passion for coaching and helping others identify and maximize their unique talents and expertise, she works with firms across the U.S.—small, medium, and large—to facilitate market research, make connections, build chemistry, and coach sales, marketing, and seller/doer teams.
Donna achieved the designation of Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) through the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) in 1993 and elevated to the status of Fellow of the Society in 2004. Active since 1987 on local and national levels, Donna served as SMPS National President in 2007-2008. A native Tennessean, Donna’s roots run deep in Southern hospitality, a culture of giving, and an abiding love of SEC football.
Rhonda Cardone, Marketing Director for the New York City office of Dewberry, has over 29 years of experience in the A/E industry involving local and international billion dollar projects. Her specialties include strategizing and positioning the office to pursue and win contracts by initiating and implementing marketing programs, which integrate relational databases, and reports for progress pipelines with business development and networking activities for existing and new areas of work. She is actively involved in SMPS national as well as the NY Chapter and is currently the Chair of the Leadership Committee.
These are one-hour lunch-time gatherings to explore the fundamentals of leadership, the skills necessary to develop our leadership abilities, and the challenges we meet as leaders – at whatever our job level. Our conversations will be peer-to-peer and might include interviews with industry leaders, viewing TED talks, reviewing articles and discussing other sources of information and insight brought to the table.
The lunches are open to all members of SMPS-NY, whatever your job level. The goal of the lunches is to recognize, support and encourage the development of leadership as it manifests at every level of one’s marketing career. It’s a no-charge, brown-bag event so bring your own food and drink.
