Carrie Villani judges New York Construction Awards
Carrie Villani, Director of Marketing for LERA Consulting Structural Engineers served as a judge for the 2018 New York Construction Awards. Carrie was part of a panel of judges that selected the awards for Technological Innovation of the Year, Marketing Initiative of the Year, Regeneration Project of the Year, Architectural Design of the Year, Women in Construction Award and the New York Build Excellence Award. The New York Construction Awards were announced at the New York Build Expo at the Javits Center on March 19.
Andrew Weinberg speaks at SMPS SERC Conference and SMPS Southeast Louisiana
Andrew Weinberg, FSMPS, CPSM, Regional Business Development Manager for Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) presented on March 7th alongside Terry Hawley, CPSM, Client Development Manager at Terracon Consultants, Inc. The event titled “Defining your BD Sluggers and Improving Everyone’s Batting Average” explored how everyone, including the ‘non-sellers,’ adds to the BD equation.
On March 27th, Andrew will present at SMPS Southeast Louisiana Chapter as part of the New Orleans 501 Series on March 27th. The event titled “Expansion into New Markets & Unified Message within Units” will focus on Andrew’s experience expanding SGH’s presence into new markets, leveraging existing relationships and strategies to build a network.
Alicia Koledin’s Article featured in SMPS Marketer
Alicia L. Koledin, Associate AIA, Founding Principal of AKcelerate, is featured in the February 2018 issue of the SMPS Marketer. Her article “Corporate Social Responsibility and the New Architectural Era” explores corporate social responsibility as a differentiator and outlines a five-step process to instituting a culture of social responsibility at your firm.
Erika Capek promoted to Associate
Erika Capek, Marketing Manager at BuroHappold Engineering, has been promoted to Associate. Working closely with firm leadership, she supports key client relationship efforts and provides strategic direction to enhance the firm’s portfolio of award-winning projects. Erika leads the marketing and business development department for BuroHappold’s New York, Boston and Chicago offices and oversees the region’s project pursuits and internal and external communications, including events, thought leadership, social media and public relations strategy. Erika has been with BuroHappold for nearly five years and possesses a deep understanding of the firm’s culture, differentiators and guiding values.
Erika Aiese promoted to Senior Associate
Erika Aiese was recently promoted to Senior Associate at Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects, P.C. (MNLA). Erika brings more than 15 years of A/E/C experience as Director of Marketing at the helm of MNLA’s promotional efforts. Keenly advancing the firm’s mission of creating places that are restorative to the public and environment alike, she works closely with the principals, staff, and consultants on all aspects of business development, print and digital communications, and programs and events. During her tenure at MNLA, Erika’s proactive outreach has led directly to the firm’s procurement of high-profile projects and advancement in key design competitions. Most recently, she led the firm through its website redesign and rebrand, and is currently a member of the Leadership Committee of SMPS-NY.
