MEMBER OF THE MONTH | April 2017

April 3rd, 2017

Tracy Lobdell

Senior Marketing Coordinator

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc.

April’s Member of the Month is a valued part of the SMPS New York Chapter. Tracy Lobdell serves on the Long Island Affiliate and puts forth a consistent energy to bridge their efforts with the chapter as a whole. In addition to work with SMPS and her role as a senior marketing coordinator for Greenman-Pedersen, Tracy is active on both Construction Long Island and 100+ Women Who Care, two Long Island based, A/E/C charities. Let’s read below as Tracy has shared some of her thoughts and ideas with us.

1. Where are you from originally and what brought you to New York?
I’m a native New Yorker. With the exception of a few childhood years spent in the Chicagoland area, and a few early college years spent in Colorado, I’ve lived on Long Island all my life!

2. What degree(s) do you hold, and from what schools?
Bachelor of Science, Marketing/Management from CW Post/LIU

3. Describe your perfect Saturday.
LOL – My perfect Saturday is one where all of the boxes on my To Do list get checked off! In addition to my work at Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., I am the Executive Director of Canstruction Long Island, Inc., and the Founder/Director of 100+ Women Who Care about Long Island. My Saturdays are usually spent doing PR and administrative work for both organizations. Additionally, I frequently co-host “The Non-Profit Voice”, a Saturday morning radio show on Long Island News Radio 103.9 FM, that features local non-profit organizations and the wonderful work they do to help Long Islanders.

4. Can you tell us more about your involvement with the Long Island Affiliate and what new things you are all are working on?
I’ve been involved with SMPS on Long Island since 2006, and served on the Board of Directors for six years as the Director of Public Relations and the Director of Special Events. For the Long Island Affiliate, I was Program Manager for the recent Meet the Media Client Panel Program, which brought together a PR practitioner and members of the newspaper, magazine, radio and television media for a lively discussion on non-traditional ways the media can help gain exposure for your firm. Along with our regularly scheduled, and highly enjoyable, Spirits nights and creative workshops, the Long Island Affiliate is working on an Airport Panel Program for this summer which would provide information on the design and construction process, future trends, capital programs and upcoming projects.

5. What blogs do you read on a regular basis?
None, actually!
