Many firms have been using Deltek for Accounting but are now expanding into the Project Management and CRM functions of the integrated software. The Group meets in person on a bi-monthly basis. The most recent meeting was held at the offices of Hardesty and Hanover. In attendance were firm Principals, Marketers, Chief Financial Officers, Project Managers and IT Directors from a variety of professional service firms. The next meeting will be at the offices of AKF and we will discuss the option of setting of sub-committees amongst the group including a Marketing Committee. SMPS members should take advantage of this information sharing network.
A great tip shared at the last meeting was the use of Qlik Sense, a data visualization tool. Qlik Sense is available for free and transforms your Deltek or other data into colorful, analytics and infographics. This tool is perfect for communicating your marketing efforts internally to other members of your firm or for the creation of project data diagrams and charts for use in firm collateral, websites and award submissions.
Deltek is a vast software and not any one user can master all aspects of it, to maximize our efficiency we need input from a variety of users on their Deltek success stories and challenges.
